Terms of service

These terms apply to merchants who install Mint Shipping Rules ("the app"), made by Mint Labs ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

The service

The app lets you hide, rename and reorder delivery options and payment methods at checkout with rules you set, and (on Pro) offer your own shipping rates from rate tables. It creates one delivery customization and one payment customization in your Shopify store, powered by the app's Shopify Functions, and, when you turn on rate tables, one carrier service that our server answers. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a paid feature you rely on without notice.

Your rules and rates

You decide the rules, the rates and what customers see, and you are responsible for them, including that they comply with the laws and Shopify policies that apply to your store. Please try your rules in the simulator, and place a test order, after changing them. If a Function ever fails to run, Shopify shows checkout without that customization's changes. If a rate request isn't answered in time, Shopify shows the backup rates set in your shipping settings.

What Shopify controls

Shopify decides which plans can use customizations and calculated rates from apps, which payment methods apps may change, and how checkout shows names, order and delivery dates. Where Shopify ignores or limits a change, the app can't override it.

Billing

Plans are billed by Shopify every 30 days in USD after the free trial. You can cancel at any time by changing plans or uninstalling the app. Charges are handled entirely by Shopify under Shopify's terms.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the app available, accurate and secure, but it is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the 3 months before a claim.

Data processing addendum

The app is designed not to store personal data of your customers: its Functions run inside Shopify and can't send data anywhere, and rate requests are processed in memory and discarded. To the extent the app processes personal data on your behalf (for example the delivery address in a rate request), you are the controller and we are the processor, and we will:

  • process personal data only to provide the app's features, following your instructions given through the app's settings;
  • process only the minimum data needed, and never store customers' names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, orders or carts;
  • never sell personal data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models;
  • keep data confidential and limit access to authorised personnel;
  • encrypt data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Cloudflare D1 and KV encryption at rest);
  • use Cloudflare (hosting, database and key-value storage) and Shopify as our only sub-processors;
  • delete all shop data after uninstall (shop redaction) and respond to Shopify's customer privacy requests;
  • help you respond to data subject requests and notify you without undue delay of any personal data breach.

Changes

We will post changes to these terms here and update the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
